Après des études en photographie, Jean-François Caissy réalise le long-métrage documentaire LA BELLE VISITE (2009) qui est présenté en première mondiale au 60e Festival du film de Berlin. Ses films suivants : LA MARCHE À SUIVRE (2014) et PREMIÈRES ARMES (2018) sont également présentés à la Berlinale et dans plusieurs festivals à travers le monde dont le BFI London Film Festival, la Viennale, Hotdocs et le MoMA Doc Fortnigh. Ils remportent également quelques prix dont le « World Pulse Award » au festival IndieLisboa. Son plus récent film JARDIN D’ENFANTS (2025) est présenté en première mondiale aux Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal où il remporte le Prix Spécial du Jury.
 

After studying photography, Jean-François Caissy directed the feature-length documentary LA BELLE VISITE (2009), which premiered at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. His subsequent films, LA MARCHE À SUIVRE (2014) and PREMIÈRES ARMES (2018), were also presented at the Berlinale and at several festivals around the world, including the BFI London Film Festival, the Viennale, Hot Docs, and MoMA’s Doc Fortnight. They also received several awards, including the “World Pulse Award” at the IndieLisboa festival. His most recent film, JARDIN D’ENFANTS (2025), premiered at the Montreal International Documentary Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize.
